Job overview

Domestic Assistants support the Trust in delivering a clean and safe environment for both service users and staff.  We are looking for enthusiastic  Domestic Assistants to join our Facilities Team in Chester,  successful candidates will receive full training and a uniform will be provided, 

This vacancy is part time 22.5 hours,  Monday to Friday  14.30 pm to  19:00pm

The Trust currently supports the Real Living Wage (RLW) hourly rate as set by the Living Wage Federation and will apply a pay supplement if the national A4C hourly rate falls below this
 

Main duties of the job

You will be required to work as part of a team and be flexible within your working approach e.g. cover for annual leave and sickness. Previous experience in a domestic environment would be advantageous, if not training will be provided.

Main Duties: 

  1. To be responsible for cleaning all areas in accordance with the NPSA national standards of cleanliness, following the approved CWP cleaning schedule and to adjust work routine if required for the needs of the ward / department.
  2. To be accountable for cleaning all areas in accordance with C.O.S.H.H. regulations.
  3. To be accountable for collecting daily rubbish and taking it to designated area.
  4. To undertake the washing up of mealtime dishes for patients.
  5. To be responsible for keeping all equipment used in connection with duties in a clean and tidy condition.
  6. To be responsible for bringing to the attention of the domestic supervisor, all faults on equipment.
  7. To provide details of any untoward incident to administrative / senior nursing staff.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • General Education
  • Hold or willing to undertake accredited Level 2 award in cleaning
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning
  • Food Safety qualification

Knowledge and Expertise

Essential criteria
  • Ability to accept and prioritise instructions
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS cleaning knowledge would be desirable

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Good understanding of cleaning services
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in Domestic Services and/or catering.
  • Previous experience in dealing with the public
