To achieve this, the Trust has embarked on an exciting new strategy focused on continuous improvement.

Our vision is to improve the lives of our community and provide excellence in healthcare, through partnership and innovation

Job overview

Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week

The Countess of Chester Research and Innovation department is looking for a forward thinking, positive, enthusiastic and motivated nurse to join our Research Delivery Team

The post holder will primarily take a lead on building and driving the Vascular research portfolio of studies and will be supported by colleagues working in other surgical and acute care specialties.

Experience of working clinically in this specialty or having already been involved in the delivery of research studies would be an advantage however full training will be provided in order to equip the right candidate with the skills and knowledge required for the role.

Experience of working in an acute NHS care setting is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • The successful candidate will be joining an expanding team and will be responsible for the day to day running of their assigned NIHR Portfolio studies as well as positively contributing to the team objectives.
  • Excellent communication and team playing skills are vital as you will work closely with existing team members and play a pivotal role in the screening, clinical assessment, recruitment and follow up of patients.
  • A key aspect of the role is collaborative working. You will therefore need to be able to show initiative and confidence in the ability to interact with individuals at all levels. You will need to be able to autonomously plan, adapt and manage competing priorities and support the developmental needs of colleagues and any direct reports.
  • Good IT skills are essential as well as the ability to work to tight deadlines, a high standard of accuracy and good attention to detail.
  • Research experience would be advantageous but not essential as we can provide comprehensive training and support for the right individual who is up to the challenge and who has a keen interest in clinical research within the NHS.
  • Recent clinical experience in a secondary care setting is a requirement and you will be expected to uphold your clinical skills where relevant to the role in addition to developing new ones as appropriate.
