Occupational Therapist

Band 5

Job overview

Are you an enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapist looking for a role where you can learn and develop every day? Do you want to take on professional challenges with the support of a highly skilled team in Crewe? If so, this is an excellent opportunity to grow your career.

Working within our Community Mental Health Team, you will manage a caseload with autonomy while receiving support from senior staff and peers. As we implement a new Community Occupational Need Pathway, you will help shape future service delivery and improve patient outcomes. While your main focus will be working-age adults, you will also gain experience across adult and older adult services.

You will deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions, work with colleagues across health and social care integrated hubs, and promote the value of Occupational Therapy within multidisciplinary teams and community networks.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for community mental health practice, a strong professional identity, excellent clinical reasoning, communication and time-management skills, and a commitment to collaboration and sharing best practice.

In return, we offer regular supervision, peer support and preceptorship for newly qualified clinicians, professional and personal development opportunities, and access to a wider Occupational Therapy network across Cheshire and Wirral for shared learning and mentorship.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will have a key role in providing Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to adult mental health service users, as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team. This is a dynamic and rewarding role in directly influencing positive recovery and outcomes for service users.

You will be an enthusiastic, adaptable and highly motivated Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in mental health. You will be able to take on the challenges of managing a caseload and facilitating the Occupational Therapy pathway, completing timely individual assessment and interventions to support service users during their journey with the CMHT.

You will also be contributing to planning and facilitating the therapeutic group program as part of the team.

You will be committed to the 6Cs and person-centred care.

Support is provided from Senior Occupational Therapy staff in the CMHT, and our wider Occupational therapist working in  other community teams. Our Therapy service is always growing and developing.

We encourage commitment to clinical supervision, Continuing Professional Development and Practice Placement Education. The work pattern is Monday-Friday day, 09.00- 17.00, excluding Bank Holidays.

This is an ideal career development opportunity for a new graduate Occupational Therapist, or practitioners looking to develop expertise within mental health and  a community setting.
