Main duties of the job

The role of a Technician within the UTC Department can be demanding and challenging, but also extremely rewarding for the right individual. Our team is skilled, knowledgeable, friendly and supportive and it is committed to deliver the best possible care for our patients and their relatives. You will work along side the Streaming Nurses, ACPs and GPs. 

A band 3 Health Technician would be expected to work shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays, being flexible as required.

You would be required to support the clinical team, providing a wide range of duties for the patient and their families and to assist in the efficient management of the department.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Main duties for the role will be taking bloods and inserting cannulas, completing ECGs, urine analysis and observations.  Some of these duties could at times be classed as unpleasant, ie exposure to bodily fluids. The successful candidate will be approachable, enthusiastic & conscientious and have good communication, a good sense of teamwork and be in good physical health.

IT and customer service skills are necessary. Previous Health Care assistant experience in any health care setting is desirable.
