Job overview

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to work as a ward clerk supporting Ward 94

The successful candidate will need to be forward thinking and be able to provide a full range of clerical duties to support the smooth running of the ward.

Good organisational and communication skills are essential as well as a flexible approach to work.  Knowledge of health IT systems to include PCS would be desirable although full training will be given.

 

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for the maintenance of patient notes and computer systems. 

You will be expected to be able to communicate with a wide range of professionals, Consultants, doctors, nursing staff, and patients/relatives. 

You will be expected to organise your own workload in order to maintain an efficient and professional service

Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of local hospital and community services for people across East Cheshire (population 399K) and West Cheshire and Chester boroughs (population 357K). The Trust provides high quality planned and unplanned/emergency care, cardiac and critical care as well as child health, maternity services, and intermediate care across our sites at Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide a comprehensive administration and clerical service within the ward.

The post holder will be required to understand ward systems, taking into account the needs of patients who require admission, transfer and discharge, and be expected to communicate with a wide range of professionals, consultants, doctors, nursing staff and patients/relatives
and carers, organising own workload in order to maintain an efficient and professional service.
