*INTERVIEWS ARE TO BE CARRIED OUT FACE TO FACE*
We have an exciting opportunity for an Adult trained Staff Nurse to join the Medical - SDEC (Same Day Emergency Care) team at Leighton Hospital.
The Medical - SDEC Unit aims to provide patients with rapid access to investigations and treatment without the need for hospital admission. Often patients are discharged to return to the unit for continued treatment, diagnostics or review. We are open Monday to Friday 0800 until 2200 (there is a possibility we are looking to include weekend working) . The Unit is supported by a team of acute care Medical Consultants and Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
Main duties of the job
As a valued member of the team, the successful candidate will be supported in the development of a wide range of clinical skills and practice which will enable them to provide excellent care and ensure the best outcomes for our patients.
This role is ideal for a dynamic individual who enjoys no two days being the same. It is an ideal role for someone who is perhaps looking at returning to acute care, a newly qualified nurse or someone simply looking for a change and a new challenge.
The Trust has been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following the recent inspection of its services and leadership and Mid Cheshire Hospitals Foundation Trust has been named a Top40 hospital at CHKS Top Hospital Awards 2019.
Our clinical facilities are excellent, as we have invested in state of the art theatres, Critical Care, Emergency Department and our Children’s Wards (to name but a few). We have also invested in our people, ensuring we have the right number of the right people delivering care, fostering a culture of compassion, support and excellence.
Working for our organisation
Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MCHFT) provides good quality, safe and effective healthcare to the people of Cheshire and beyond.
The Trust, which manages Leighton Hospital in Crewe, Victoria Infirmary in Northwich, and Elmhurst Intermediate Care Centre in Winsford, was established as an NHS Trust in April 1991 and became a Foundation Trust in April 2008.
We employ almost 5,000 members of staff, provide around 540 hospital beds, with a range of services including accident and emergency, maternity, outpatients, therapies, and children's health.
The Trust is also part of Central Cheshire Integrated Care Partnership (CCICP), a unique local health partnership that provides a range of community services for people across South Cheshire and Vale Royal.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, the Trust was recognised nationally for its ‘Be Safe Be EquiPPEd’ campaign, which aimed to make the Trust as safe as possible for staff and patients, through supporting the correct use of PPE.
The results in the 2020 national NHS Staff Survey showed improvements in all elements of the safety culture theme, with 92% of respondents feeling their role made a difference to our patients. We were also recognised nationally for our workforce health and wellbeing initiatives.
At Mid Cheshire, we value our staff and appreciate that in order to give our patients the best quality, compassionate care, we also need to look after our colleagues.
