Job overview
East Cheshire NHS Trust is looking to recruit Bank Senior (Tier 4) Doctors in our Emergency Department to enhance our already successful Medical Staff Bank.
Applications are welcomed from doctors to work on an ad-hoc basis to help provide consistent, high level patient care and to assist with the continuity of care that the Trust provides.
As this is ‘Bank’ work, it is on an ‘as and when’ basis with no guaranteed hours, however it does offer doctors increased flexibility by selecting shifts to work around your lifestyle.
Please note, you must have a minimum of 12 months at Tier 4 level working (ie ST4+) NHS/UK experience in order to proceed with joining our Bank.
Due to the terms of a Bank contract, we are unable to meet the UKVI Skilled Worked criteria and therefore unable to provide sponsorship for Visa purposes
Bank rates are subject to change (hourly rate inclusive of 12.5% annual leave payment)
ST4-ST6 & Specialty Doctor/SAS £80 ( Social ) £90 (Unsocial)
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit suitably qualified doctors to work across ST4-ST6 grades for work ranging from a single shift to an extended post, with evening, weekend and on-call shifts available. Full Registration with the GMC is required, as well as having achieving the appropriate level of competencies to carry out the role you have been employed to do. Duties within the shifts which you are booked to fulfil are:
- To liaise between nurses, other clinicians, patients, relatives in order to support safe care
- To attend and participate in board rounds, ward rounds & other related daily unit activities
- To provide appropriate workplace supervision to junior ED staff as & when needed as requested
- To lead the shopfloor as clinician in charge on night shifts with a consultant on call from home
- To maintain high standards of professionalism, especially in relation to documentation
- To arrive on time for the shift & be available for work from the arranged start time
- To co-operate with the workforce deployment team in relation to administration of the shift
Qualifications and skills
- MBChB or equivalent
- MRCEM (FRCEM desirable)
- Up to date ALS/ATLS/APLS or equivalents
- Clinical & Procedural skills in keeping with RCEM ST4 level portfolio requirements
