Community Administration Support - Macclesfield, Community Nursing and Therapies Team East
The post holder will:
- Often be the first point of contact for patients and clinicians and will be expected to work independently using their own initiative with minimal direct supervision.
- Support the day-to-day operational functions of the teams and undertake any office duties to ensure the efficiency of the administrative service is maintained at all times.
- Proficient in the use of computerised systems for booking and tracking all types of community appointments and patient records ensuring this function is coordinated and updated accurately and in a timely manner.
Hours per week: 24.00, Permanent
Support Medical Secretary - various areas
This role provides you with ownership of your work, be creative in your approach and responsible for supporting and ensuring our patients receive the best quality of care by using your skills and experience and our Trust's values and behaviours.
Hours per week: 22.5, Fixed Term 12 months
Main duties of the job
Community Administration Support - Macclesfield
To take referrals and messages ensuring they are logged and passed on to the appropriate clinician in line with indicative urgency.
To liaise with patients and their carers, relatives, Social Services and any other agencies as appropriate, maintaining confidentiality and treating all situations with sensitivity and tact.
Undertake routine clerical duties such as distributing and dispatching mail, photocopying, typing tasks and responding to emails.
To act as a point of contact for staff reporting sickness absence, inputting onto the ESR/E-Roster systems and ensuring staff have contacted the absence reporting line, escalating to Team Leaders/Duty Coordinator if required.
Support Secretary
To provide an efficient and effective typing and administration function to the team. The post requires fast and accurate audio typing skills, and a sound knowledge of medical terminology.
Good communication, organisational skills, and previous secretarial experience is essential as is experience of dealing with sensitive information. Knowledge of medical terminology and previous experience using hospital based IT systems such as Electronic Patient Record systems will be advantageous.
