Job overview
**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the ‘ECT Family’ this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.**
An exciting opportunity within the Cancer Data Team has arose. The role involves being fundamental in the tracking of patient through the Cancer Pathway ensuring timely diagnostics . You will work in a multidisciplinary team and be an effective team player in a fast paced environment.
Working within Cancer Services, this role is to monitor the diagnostic pathway of patients to ensure timely diagnosis. As a team player you perform a number of key tasks including monitoring numerous IT platforms, data entry and liaising with other departments ensuring appointments are expedited.
You will be working with a friendly committed team and supported by band 3 and 4 cancer pathway co-ordinators, the Patient Access Team Leader and a Patient Access Supervisor.
Hours per week: 37.5
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities for the role is to co-ordinate and attend specific MDT meetings which will include regular communication with lead clinician.
The role will be to undertake collection and provision of data in line with local requirements.
To take a proactive role in the local collection of national audit data.
Oversee patient tracking of suspected/diagnosed Cancer Pathway to ensure that patients follow cancer pathways and receive diagnostic tests and treatment in a timely manner.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Recognised ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) qualification or equivalent experience in Microsoft Word/Excel
- NVQ Level 3 or A Level equivalent
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of cancer waiting times and standards
- Previous experience of tracking cancer patients
Desirable criteria
- Good general knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of cancer audits
- Knowledge of the cancer Peer Review Process
Skills

- Good general standard of education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
