Job overview
**This position is open to staff working at the Trust in the ‘ECT Family’ this includes current East Cheshire NHS Trust employees, both NHSP and ECT bank staff, ISS staff and volunteers at the Trust. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications from applicants not listed within these groups.**
This is a fixed term post until 31st March 2027 as a member of the supply chain team.
You will work within clearly defined procedures using your own initiative on routine matters and refer to the Receipts and Distribution Department manager when necessary.
Responsible for stocking clinical and non-clinical areas with products delivered, maintaining stock rotation to, minimize wastage,
Taking delivery of product delivered to site, receipting all goods delivered onto the e-Procurement system, and scanning to reorder stock against agreed stock levels.
You will work to ensure an efficient and effective customer focused service is provided for all staff across the site ensuring they can deliver excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job
Coordinate the ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of clinical and non-clinical products to wards, theatres, and departments.
Maintain optimum stock levels in line with agreed stock levels to ensure continuous product availability.
Assist with stock rationalisation, standardisation, and waste reduction through effective inventory management practices.
Process orders and inventory transactions using EDC, hand scanners, e-catalogues, warehouse systems, and other Trust systems that are implemented.
Manage the replenishment of pharmaceutical products in accordance with agreed pharmacy stock portfolios and procedures.
Ensure the safe handling, transportation, and delivery of medicines and supplies across operational areas.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- 5 GCSE’s (A – C) or equivalent inc. Maths & English
- NVQ (level 3) in Stores Management/Customer Services or equivalent
Knowledge/Skills
Essential criteria
- Good organisational/time management skills, ability to prioritise own workload, to work alone or as a member of a team
- Good analytical skills
- Ability to effectively manage discrepancies, incorrect deliveries and notify suppliers/finance of any adjustments
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of Materials Management/Logistics/ Stock Control
- Experience of using an electronic ordering system, ordering via PDA’s
- Demonstrable IT including Microsoft Office applications used to create reports and to analyse data
- Experience of working in a busy Procurement/Supply Chain environment
- Experience of customer care with interpersonal skills and ability to demonstrate these skills in a professional and courteous manner
Desirable criteria

- Understanding of local, regional and national procurement policies & procedures
