Job overview
To assist in the delivery of pharmaceutical care to customers and patients of East Cheshire NHS Trust through the provision of a safe, efficient and effective production service.
Hours per week: 30
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this varied job are:
- Picking and processing customer orders and assembling for courier delivery.
- Managing stocks of finished products and ensuring appropriate storage.
- Receiving pharmaceutical deliveries and entering onto quality control record sheet.
- Setting up batches, including label production and patient information leaflets.
- Packing and labelling batches of pharmaceutical products.
- Always ensuring compliance with MHRA good manufacturing practice.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent qualification) including maths and English at level 4/5 (C) or above.
Knowledge and Skills
Essential criteria
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and uses own initiative.
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of hospital pharmacy practice and role of a licensed manufacturing unit within the hospital environment
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience working in an environment where attention to detail and accurate completion of documentation are required.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience working in a hospital pharmacy and /or manufacturing/distribution facility.
- Pharmacy production unit experience.
- Experience of working in an MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency) regulated environment.
