Job overview

A vacancy has arisen for the above grade to join the busy Operating Theatres at Macclesfield District General Hospital. We are keen to recruit a motivated and forward thinking team member to assist in the day to day running of Theatres.

We are seeking a Circulating Practitioner who is keen to learn and develop skills. Full training and support will be given if necessary to the successful candidate.

We are able to offer excellent opportunities in a wide range of specialties including General Surgery, ENT, Orthopaedics, Trauma, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Urology, Ophthalmics, Breast & Dentals.

You will demonstrate a flexible approach to working and will co-ordinate with other colleagues in multi-disciplinary teams.

There is a commitment to on call and weekend working.

Main duties of the job

To give direct care to patients attending the operating department, in a safe and welcoming environment under the supervision of professionally qualified staff. 

To perform as a safe competent clinical member of the theatre team and provide care for the peri-operative patient under the supervision of qualified staff.

To prepare the Operating Theatre prior to and following operative procedures ensuring correct equipment available and in working order and to notify the Registered Practitioner of any problems identified.

  • Good general standard education
  • NVQ level III in health or equivalent experience
