Job overview

North Cheshire and Mersey NHS Foundation Trust has an exciting opportunity to join the Finance team based at Warrington Hospital as a Band 4 Assistant Costing Accountant (subject to banding).  This role is part of a well-established Finance & Procurement Department.  We pride ourselves on our financial standards and commitment to continuous staff development.

The interviews will be held in person at the Warrington site.

We offer hybrid working (minimum 3 days on site) with the main base being Warrington Hospital.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) and experience working in a busy finance office environment, preferably within the NHS, and will possess excellent communication and organisational skills.

The Assistant Costing Accountant will report directly to the Costing Accountant and will play a key part in helping process quarterly Service Line Reporting.  They will work with complex, varied datasets across a range of systems and will be encouraged to challenge and streamline current processes.

The postholder will also support the team in processing the annual National Cost Collection submission to NHSE and will assist with any ad hoc benchmarking requests to support the Trusts cost improvement requirements.

You must be capable of working to tight deadlines whilst ensuring consistency and accuracy, able to prioritise your own workload and be able to work on your own initiative. An enthusiastic and energetic approach is essential.

We expect candidates to be passionate, flexible and hardworking, seizing this opportunity to develop knowledge and skills within the operation of an acute and community Foundation Trust.

In return we can offer a stimulating environment, a varied role and a commitment to support your own personal development to ensure you have the necessary skills to progress further with your career. Study support will be considered for candidates looking to continue with their professional development.
