Job overview

An exciting opportunity as arisen for a Band 5 Dietitian to join our dietetic acute team.  We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and proactive Dietitian with excellent clinical, communication and team working skills. 

 

The post will be based at Warrington hospital and will offer a range of clinical experience (general medicine, general surgery and care of the elderly)  providing a dietetic service to acute adult patients with the opportunity to cover outpatient clinics and group patient education sessions.

 

The team is actively involved in dietetic student training placements and there is scope for the successful candidates to contribute significantly in this. 

 

The department offers excellent support for your professional development, and you will be actively supported to engage in preceptorship and clinical supervision.

Main duties of the job

To provide evidence-based dietetic care to adult inpatients

To assess and manage patients with a variety of nutritional needs

To contribute to multidisciplinary team working

To maintain accurate and timely clinical records

To engage in service development within the department

To participate in the supervision, mentoring and training of student dietitians

To attend and participate in the Trusts Preceptorship Programme

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered dietitian with Bsc or equivalent
  • Current HCPC registration
Desirable criteria
  • Member of the British Dietetic Association (BDA)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within an NHS setting
  • Experience of acute dietetics
  • Experience of delivery of out-patient clinics
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of delivering patient group education sessions

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Basic knowledge of clinical dietetics across a range of conditions
  • Team working skills
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
