Job overview

The role of a higher-level healthcare assistant on Ward A4, is around supporting patients both with their hygiene and dietary requirements, but also supporting their medical needs. This role allows you to develop clinical skills on a daily basis and clinically assess patients to improve their health and wellbeing. 

Main duties of the job

As a Higher-Level Healthcare Assistant on Ward A4, you will be encouraged and supported to expand your knowledge and skills by a dynamic senior nursing team and fellow higher level healthcare assistants. You will be caring for patients with a range of surgical conditions, including patients requiring stoma care, catheter care, surgical wounds and complex treatment plans.

Senior Healthcare Assistant will be responsible for providing a range of personal care for patients and a range of clinical duties under the guidance of a registered healthcare professional.

Senior Healthcare Assistant work independently performing a number of clinical duties/tasks following training and meeting competency within role as per policy and procedures.
