Lead Digital Pharmacy Technician

NHS AfC: Band 6

Job overview

We’re looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Pharmacy Technician to join our Digital Pharmacy Team at Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a department that’s actively shaping how digital tools and data are used to improve medicines safety, streamline clinical workflows, and support frontline teams. You’ll work closely with colleagues across pharmacy, digital, and clinical services to support and optimise our EPMA system and other digital systems with patients at the forefront of design and experience.

The Trust is currently in the process of procuring a new Electronic Patient Record, and this role will contribute to pharmacy’s involvement in its evaluation and development - helping ensure it meets the needs of both patients and staff focusing on safety and efficiency.

The role allows for both structured and self-directed learning, with a strong focus on building digital and clinical capability across the team. The post offers the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects that improve patient care, reduce risk, and support the safe and effective use of medicines across the organisation.

Main duties of the job

  • In conjunction with the Digital Pharmacy team, the postholder will facilitate the development, implementation, and evaluation of digital systems across the Trust.
  • Provide subject matter expert guidance related to the EPMA system.
  • Implement the required medicine configurations and workflows within the EPMA system.
  • Assist / provide support in the operational running and development of the EPMA Functionality.
  • Be a primary contact for all pharmacy EPMA related issues across the Trust.
