Foundation Pharmacist - Rotational

Job overview
We have multiple vacancies available within our dynamic rotational programme for foundation pharmacists. We currently have an array of rotational areas, each of which has its own unique opportunities for learning both clinical and professional skills. You will spend 4 months in each rotation.
Each rotation involves working with an expert team of specialist pharmacists, dedicated medicines management technicians and other highly skilled pharmacy staff. Your role will include providing the highest quality pharmacy services to both patients and health care professionals across the wards and departments at South Tees Hospitals.
Main duties of the job
Additional to the wide array of opportunities within your rotations, at South Tees Hospitals we will also offer you:
- Comprehensive induction and initial training programme
- Personal line manager who you will meet with on a monthly basis for developmental and professional support and guidance
- Provision of resources and a supervisor to allow you to develop your personal portfolio of development, aligned with the RPS foundation level programme
- A ring-fenced monthly development meeting with peers to support and guide you through your portfolio and diploma work
- Large variety of educational opportunities including monthly in-house training sessions, access to the trust junior doctor training programme, and encouragement to attend external educational and networking opportunities regionally and nationally
The role also encompasses:
- Rota’d time in dispensary (all other time based on ward/ in clinical environment)
- 1 day weekend working once every 5 weeks (reimbursed with a weekday off the following week)
- 1 ‘late night’ shift every 2 weeks (working hours 9am-5.30pm)
- On call duties on a rolling rota basis, approximately 1 in 60.
The pharmacy department at South Tees hosts over 180 members of staff and provides a stimulating, friendly, and professionally rewarding environment for staff to develop their clinical expertise and professionalism.

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers. This programme aims to

After you complete this four and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities, we offer further in-house courses dependent upon your role and bitesize programmes and leadership apprenticeships at level 3,5 and 7.

Essential criteria
- Master’s degree in pharmacy or equivalent
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Evidence of CPD and ongoing education
Desirable criteria
- Membership with Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
Experience

- Experience in pharmacy practice
