Staff Nurse (Neurosurgical HDU)
37.5 hours per week
Within collaborative (covering maternity leave on the department for 12 months)
Neurosciences Services have an exciting full time position within Neuro High Dependency.
We are a dynamic sub-regional service, offering critical care competency based training for Neurosurgical High Dependency care. This is a busy service area, which takes pride in delivering high quality patient centred care and innovative practice.
Main duties of the job
We would welcome applicants with relevant experience, however full training will be given so experience is not essential. You will be supported by a well-developed preceptorship package and staff nurses will complete the nationally developed Critical Care Competency package to support individual and team development.

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services. There is also an Institute of Learning, Research and Innovation on site, embracing postgraduate medical education, undergraduate teaching centre, nurse training school, the school of radiography and library facilities.
The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is an essential part of our organisation and an important point of delivery for the community. It is one of the smallest district general hospitals in the country and has 189 inpatient beds.

- Registered General Nurse
- Diploma in Nursing or healthcare degree or equivalent experience
- Current NMC Registration
- Recognisable teaching qualification
- Experience working within an acute or community setting
- Ability to work within the boundaries of the NMC Code of Professional conduct.
- Experience of Multi-disciplinary working
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
