Are you wanting to be part of a team in a busy Elective Orthopaedic ward environment?

Do you want to gain experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics?

If so, we are looking for self-motivated individuals to work with us to continue to develop Elective Orthopaedics.

The Orthopaedic Directorate is recognised within the region as a tertiary referral centre. Our dedicated ring fenced Orthopaedic ward is for patients undergoing complex Arthroplasty surgery. Gara Orthopaedic Unit is Diamond STAQC accredited. 

We are at the forefront of nursing career progression, supporting and encouraging staff into a variety of specialist roles.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people with effective communication skills to enhance the service provision, improve clinical practice and streamline patient focused care.

You will work with a team of Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Nurse Practitioners, all working together to enhance patient care and experience.

South Tees Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the Tees Valley with two acute hospitals and services in a number of community hospitals.

After you complete these three and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer further in-house courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team

  • Degree or Diploma in Adult Nursing
  • Current NMC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching & mentoring qualification.

Knowledge & Skills

Essential criteria
  • Commitment to the needs of the service including a flexible and adaptable approach in the work environment/work practices
  • A team player able to work well with others and demonstrate commitment to team objectives

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience working within an acute or Community setting.
  • Experience of Multi-disciplinary working
