As a CT Radiographer, you’ll perform a wide range of CT scans, contributing to a 7-day imaging service. You’ll work closely with Team Leaders, Advanced and Specialist Practitioners, and Consultant Radiologists to ensure high-quality, patient-centred imaging services. Main duties of the job

As a CT Radiographer, you will:

  • Perform a wide range of CT scans across sites including West Cornwall Hospital CDC and Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust, covering Emergency, Outpatient, and Inpatient services.
  • Deliver high-quality imaging as part of a 7-day shift rota.
  • Collaborate with Team Leaders, Specialist Radiographers, and Radiologists to ensure efficient, patient-focused care.
  • Justify referrals per NICE guidelines and local protocols.
  • Administer IV contrast and drugs under PGDs.
  • Ensure compliance with IRR17 and IR(ME)R17 radiation safety regulations.
  • Support and supervise students, assistants, and junior staff.
  • Contribute to audits, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring cleanliness and prompt fault reporting.

We’re looking for candidates who are:

Qualified & Registered

  • DCR(R) or BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography
  • HCPC registered

Technically Skilled

  • Proficient in PACS, RIS, and imaging IT systems
  • Trained or willing to train in CT, IV cannulation, and contrast use
  • Knowledgeable in radiation safety

Communicative & Compassionate

  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to explain procedures clearly and sensitively

Organised & Adaptable

  • Able to prioritise, work under pressure, and adapt to clinical demands
  • Flexible with hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Committed to ongoing learning

A Team Player

  • Collaborative and supportive in a multidisciplinary team
  • Willing to mentor junior staff and students
