An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, Band 3 Physiotherapist Support Worker to join the Integrated Rehabilitation Therapy team within the South Kerrier area. The post is split between an inpatient role at Helston Community Hospital and South Kerrier Community Rehabilitation Team, who work in the South Kerrier locality to provide rehabilitation to people in their own homes which also includes care homes.
Within this supportive learning environment we will help you to develop as a Physiotherapy support worker with competencies and working jointly with our experienced Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy support workers.
We are looking for someone who is reliable, flexible, and wishes to develop their physiotherapy rehabilitation skills within inpatient and community settings.
Under the guidance of the Therapy team you will be responsible for the continuation of patients rehabilitation plans within the ward setting and within individuals homes and community settings. You will need to have excellent organisational skills combined with experience of working in older person’s services.
We are a supportive team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and support workers who work closely within a strong MDT. We offer a friendly environment where you can grow your clinical and interpersonal skills. CPD is encouraged and supported through regular supervision, appraisal and training.

Main Duties:
- To contribute to the assessment and treatment of patients seen by the South Kerrier Integrated Rehabilitation Team within a hospital and community setting.
- To practice as a lone worker at times.
- To carry out skilled interventions as delegated by senior Physiotherapists
- This will be in Helston Community Hospital or in the community, including the patient’s own home. This is may not be directly supervised by the therapist (e.g. practising mobility / gaining confidence / practising activities of daily living).
- To monitor the patient’s response to therapy intervention and report back on the outcome.
- To encourage patients and carers in an active approach to regaining and maintaining personal independence.
