Job overview

Are you seeking a nurse specialist post opportunity? If so, then this is an excellent prospect for a Registered Nurse to join our service, for working with adults who have bladder and/or bowel continence dysfunction.  You will work within the Bladder & Bowel Specialist Service team.  A significant part of this role is delivering evidence-based assessment and treatment to people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

As the post holder, you will work towards providing expert specialist nurse advice and support for staff, patients, families and carers. It is essential that you are a registered nurse, with experience in dealing with continence problems.  You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills and the ability to organise your own time effectively.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will act as an educational resource in clinical practice providing specialist education to other health professionals.  Our service strives to be progressive and innovative; and is well established with high work ethics and standards of care. We are looking for a committed and talented individual that will enable the service to reach its potential.

This is an extremely busy role and you must have effective organisation and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential. You must be able to prioritise, organise and delegate workload - liaising with the rest of the team to ensure the most effective and efficient use of time.

Working for our organisation

We’re an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.  We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people’s physical and mental health.  We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.

We are a people organisation and people matter to us.  As part of the team, you’ll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.

Over 5,000 people make up the Trust.  This includes doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff.

We work in people’s homes, in community clinics and bases.  Some staff work from one of our 10 community hospitals.  Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work and a great partner.

Approximately 568,000 people live here.  A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon.  As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon.  In the summer, and during other holidays lots of people choose to visit the area.  This increase the numbers of people who use out services.
