(Recruitment and Retention Payment of 12.5% of basic salary pa pro rata for two years from start date)

The Cardiac Department is seeking an experienced, accredited Devices Physiologist who is keen to join a fast paced and dynamic CRM team.

Our department sits within a wider Cardiology service which includes 15 Consultant Cardiologists with a variety of specialist roles, 2 cardiac cath labs providing both 24/7 interventional services  and device implants (including CRT, HV, S-ICDs etc) and a variety of Specialist Nurses.

The CRM team delivers both the invasive service within the labs, and the non-invasive investigations, with a large emphasis on remote monitoring of devices and OP and IP device clinics including CRT optimisation and complex lists. We also offer a Physiologist Led ILR implant service.

The department is made up of around 30 staff, including Clinical Scientists, Physiologists, Cardiographers and a range of trainees from STP students to Apprentice Associate Practitioners.

Main duties of the job

Applicants to the posts should have BSc Clinical Physiology (cardiology) or equivalent and BHRS/IBHRE accreditation or equivalent; they should demonstrate competency in a range of non-invasive procedures, as well as be competent in all aspects of device and interventional service delivery. This post is suitable for experienced device Physiologists who are able to demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning.

  • BSc. in Clinical Physiology or other recognised professional training programme e.g. Scientist Training Programme (STP)
  • Individual BHRS/IBHRE accreditation
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in CRM services
