Clinical & Business System Specialist - eCare

Band 5

Job overview

Come on an adventure and join the C&B Team to deliver eCare support.

Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is continuing on its digital and clinical transformation journey that will change the way in which we deliver care across Cornwall, the Isles of Scilly, and the South West Peninsula. The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) Programme, eCare, will underpin everything we do for our patients, our people, and our communities, as well as creating a working environment renowned for excellence and innovation that enables our staff to deliver safe and compassionate care every day. We believe the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and our staff deserve nothing less.

Key to the success of eCare will be the engagement and involvement of service users and staff in building, then delivering the transformation.

Do you have a good general understanding of technology?

Strong MS Office skills?

Great customer care and communication skills?

Experienced in using NHS Clinical applications?

Are you an excellent problem solver?

We are expanding the C&B Team for the eCare EPR project and using this recuitment to cover both the project focused support roles and the necessary backfilling of BAU roles.

Unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints we are unable us to support visa sponsorship for this role.

The recruiting panel will therefore only be able to consider applications from candidates that already possess the right to work in the UK for the duration of the eCare project

Main duties of the job

Anyone assigned to eCare will integrate fully into the project, learning the new application and feed back knowledge to the C&B Team as a whole.    It's important we all learn about eCare and are ready to support as it goes Live.  All C&B Team members will assist one another to achieve our aims.    One of the first deliverables for the team is the Data Collection Worksheets that define the data configuration on the new system.

Our team remit covers access to the Application,  User support and system configuration but we may need to evolve this as the project matures.    We need to understand this new Application fully in order to assist our Users with any issues and training will be provided.    We need to build in good practice in our future Business As Usual processes and adjust to the new application.

You will be working within workstreams on eCare and will be part of the wider project teams.   It is very much about cross-team working and progressing the project forward.   We are expecting eCare to go live in Spring 2025.

You will be well supported in your role and given any necessary training to develop your skills and knowledge in system administration.

Working for our organisation

Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target.  All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.

Please see the attached eCare candidate pack.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

During the eCare Electronic Patient Record project the workload will need to focus on supporting the project and getting ready for Go-Live.     The team will need to be full time members of the Workstream developing the processes and supporting system design for an agreed area of scope.   The team will be Workstream Configuration Analysts and contribute to the data collection worksheets and testing.
