Main duties of the job

Over the last few years £3.4m has been spent on fully refurbishing and expanding the endoscopy unit. The department boasts 6 rooms on the Royal Cornwall site and one room at the West Cornwall site. In addition, a new mobile trans-nasal endoscopy service has been approved and will be operational in the next few months. The department has won awards for innovations in green endoscopy including being the first in the UK to utilise Entonox scrubbing equipment. The endoscopy workforce has also been dramatically expanded and includes new consultant and non-consultant endoscopists.

Bowel cancer screening has been well established since 2009. We are currently fully age extended from 56-75 and will shortly be extending invitations to 54 year olds.
