Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and enthusiastic outpatient pain service.
You will be part of a wider multidisciplinary pain team, based in the outpatient pain clinic on the ground floor of tower block. Working collaboratively to support our pain patients, many of whom have complex needs.
You will be the first face our patients meet when attending the pain management clinic, so a friendly, caring and compassionate demeanour is essential.
In addition to providing high quality clinical care to our patients, there are also some associated administrative tasks.
The clinic is open 08:00-18:00 Monday to Friday and your shifts will be flexible between these hours.

Main duties of the job
You will be central to the provision of high quality and excellent care, contributing to the efficient running of the outpatient pain clinic.
Ensuring a positive patient experience by providing a welcoming, helpful and supportive environment. Assisting pain practitioners to deliver care in a manner sensitive to the individual patients needs and wishes acknowledging and respecting their confidentiality, rights and beliefs at all times.
Supporting registered clinicians with minor procedures or interventions and caring for the patient post procedure or intervention.
Undertaking appropriate administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the outpatient department and clinics.

Person specification
Essential.
Essential criteria
- Care Certificate.
- English, Maths, Science GCSE ( or equivalent).
- Experience working in care in a hospital setting.
Desirable
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in an out patient department.
- Competent in the use of PAS, Maxims, Patient Hub, AMAT and other IT systems required within the department.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
