Home Dialysis Specialist Nurse

This role is open to all applicants. However, in line with Cornwall First recruitment principles, initial shortlisting will prioritise applicants from Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust, Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, and the Integrated Care Board for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The post holder will be responsible for training patients to independently undertake haemodialysis/peritoneal dialysis within their own homes. Once established on home dialysis treatments the post holder will be responsible for responding promptly to emerging clinical needs and ensure optimal delivery of care within the modality. As such the individual will need to be able to independently manage a caseload and time management.

Main duties of the job

Train patients to undertake home dialysis treatments both in haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis

Aim to increase the uptake in home dialysis as a first choice treatment option by delivering group education sessions regularly

Visit patients in their homes where indicated.
