THIS ROLE IS OPEN TO THE CORNWALL HEALTHCARE COMMUNITY ONLY.
An exciting opportunity has opened up to work on the Trauma and Orthopaedics wards at Treliske Hospital.
This is a Band 6 Physiotherapy post, working 15 hrs per week on Mondays and Tuesdays. There is a requirement to cover weekends and bank holidays on a rota, and the post is part of the Trust's on call respiratory rota.
The trauma physiotherapy team are a hard working, dynamic team of individuals, who are looking forward to welcoming a new member to their team.
Main duties of the job
To provide a high standard Physiotherapy service to patients at Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust.
To provide specialist assessment, treatment, and goal setting of Trauma and Orthopaedics patients on the wards. Some patients may have complex and/or chronic presentations. To determine clinical diagnosis and Physiotherapy treatment indicated. To maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
You will develop highly specialist skills under the guidance of the Senior staff.
To provide clinical cross cover within your team as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead
To attend clinical level discussions / meetings relating to your area of work as delegated by your Clinical Team Lead

Essential criteria
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- HCPC Registered
Desirable criteria
- Membership of CSP
- Membership of relevant special interest groups
Experience
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive experience in acute hospital setting, including a range of post qualification rotations.
- Significant orthopaedic and MSK out patient experience.
- Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team, a good understanding of their roles and respect for the other professionals within the team.
- Experience of working in a team of people including qualified and unqualified staff.
- Experience of On-call and out of hours working – including managing the risks associated with unsupervised / lone working
Desirable criteria
- Experience working in an NHS setting in the following clinical areas: Trauma & Orthopaedics Medical, Respiratory, Neurology, Musculo-skeletal
