An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Trauma Unit at Royal Cornwall Hospital.
The post holder requires a willingness and enthusiasm to be able to support the wards and the day case unit with its clerical administration. You will work in a busy environment, providing a reception service for patients and relatives. The role also includes managing patients' records, supporting the ward with audits and maintaining the relevant databases associated with the role.
As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you should possess excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and organisational skills. Keyboard/IT skills are essential and hospital experience is desirable.
Full or part time hours may be available.
Main duties of the job
The Ward Clerk will have responsibility for administrative duties within the ward/unit. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring an optimum level of efficient clerical support to the nursing and medical staff in a timely and accurate manner. They will have contact with patients, carers and all members of the multi professional team and as such they will provide front of house services for the ward/unit.
We are looking for a bright and friendly person to join our team of ward clerks on our 54 bedded Trauma Unit, at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable.
You should be a calm, organised and well-motivated person with a positive, mature and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with patients and their families, so good communication skills are vital.
This role may include weekend and evening work, on a rotational basis.
