Job overview
The purpose of the Team Leader (TL) position is to provide on-going professional and clinical leadership and support within the Trauma Operating Theatres Team. The TL is expected to deliver perioperative care at utmost standard and working collaboratively with the clinicians (surgeons and anaesthetists) as part of the wider multi-professional team. This also includes working closely and maintaining effective intra-departmental and inter-departmental communication with the X-ray department, Trauma Unit/Ward and Trauma coordinators/ team.
This position may have the option to become a developmental post for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Registered Nurse or Registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP)

The successful candidate will provide a high standard of evidence-based clinical leadership and have a substantial theatre experience in a range of specialities, particularly, in Trauma Operating Theatres.
The post holder is expected to provide and promote development of the knowledge, skills and attitude of staff to improve quality patient care guided with both local and national policies and standards.
Moreover, the post holder must be able to demonstrate a proven track record of supporting change and service improvement; have excellent communication skills and an ability to work closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team (clinicians, X-ray department, wards and coordinators).
In addition, the post holder will be expected to perform deputy role when the need arises, especially in the absence of the department manager.

The role will be developmental for one (1) year and will re-assess for possible permanent job dependent on performance review.
