INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES

We are looking for two enthusiastic, highly self-motivated individuals to join the   Aseptic team of  the Pharmacy Department, working towards registration with the Science Council as a Science Manufacturing Technician.

You will follow an appropriate training period including studying towards the Science Manufacturing Technician Qualification through Skills 4 Pharmacy, this is a distance learning courseOn successful completion of the course and subsequent registration with the Science Council you will progress to a band 4 post.

 

 

Main duties of the job

The role is varied and will include

  • Co-ordination of day to day activities.
  • Preparation of aseptically prepared products.
  • Environmental monitoring.
  • Dispensing of outsourced parenteral products.
  • Undertaking pre-process checking of assembled trays.
  • In-process checking during preparation.
  • Generating worksheets for aseptically prepared products.

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

 

Standard Check: £21.50 + Administration cost of £5.90 = £27.40. Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.

Enhanced Check: £49.50 + administration cost of £5.90 = £55.40. Deducted from salary over a 4 month period or a one-off payment.

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 Science Manufacturing Qualificatione Council
  • Registration with the Science Council
  • Pre-process accuracy checking certificate
  • Complete TSET Aseptic Processing Programme
  • Essential IT Skills (EITS) or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Aseptic Preparation and Dispensing of Medicines Course - Leeds University
  • Supervisory Skills for Aspetic Services - Leeds University
  • ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership

Knowledge and Experience

  • At least 2 years experience of aseptic services
