The Trust is looking for an Senior Information Governance Compliance Officer to work within Digital Healthcare.


This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join a small, but very productive and friendly team providing a vital service within the Trust.  
The vision of the Information Governance department is to “put Information at the HEART of everything we do”.  

This post provides an administrative supporting role in the development of information governance in the Trust, with a particular focus on ensuring compliance against the wide range of information governance standards through accurate data collation, validation, analysis, manipulation and presentation. 

Main duties of the job

The Senior IG Compliance Officer operationally supports the Head of Information Governance / Data Protection Officer and IG Compliance Manager to maintain and deliver the information governance work programme.

The post holder will undertake duties associated with the role including support with more complex IG queries, asset management, clinical risk administration, privacy monitoring and investigations/audits.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to degree level in relevant subject or equivalent level qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level.
Desirable criteria
  • Recognised information governance qualification (or experience).
  • Evidence of ongoing continued professional development.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge and understanding of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UKGDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and privacy issues.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures, project management or information analysis.
  • Understanding / awareness of the Data Security and Protection Toolkit.
  • To be able to demonstrate theoretical and / or practical knowledge in the following areas: information asset management, information security and IT system security, proven competency in Microsoft applications.
  • Organisational awareness – understanding the hierarchy and culture of own, customer, supplier and partner organisations and being able to identify the decision makers and influencers.
  • Experience of Microsoft applications including SharePoint.
  • Experience of developing and delivering training programmes.
  • Experience of managing risks and reporting.
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence.
  • Experience of maintaining complex logs and registers.
  • Experience of developing and reviewing procedures and guidance and implementing.
  • Experience in information governance, risk management, quality assurance or security standards, techniques and activities.
  • Experience participating in governance activities in a supporting role.

  • Familiar with Records Management standards.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Caldicott principles, common law duty of confidentiality.
