Senior Staff Nurse, Band 6 (Fixed Term Maternity Leave Cover), The Cumberland Infirmary. 30 hours available
An exciting development opportunity has arisen within the Intensive Care Department. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced nurse to work within our critical care team providing direction and inspirational leadership to the nursing and multi-disciplinary team as a senior charge nurse. Applicant must continue to strive for excellence in the delivery of safe effective care.
We are looking for individuals who are competent in the management of the deteriorating /sick patient, have strong communication skills and are flexible in their approach as well as being competent team players.
In return we will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to extend their knowledge and skills by managing a team in the absence of the Senior Sister ensuring the team remains well organised and effective. This will also be an opportunity to develop your personal skills in leadership, people management and service development.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a team to provide a safe, effective environment for patients, relatives and carers.
Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care to critically ill patients, without direct supervision.
Take regular charge of the ward / unit as required. Contribute as requested by the ward sister / charge nurse to the smooth running of the unit through the acceptance of agreed additional responsibilities.

- NST 307 or equivalent
