Apprentice Clinical Research Admin B3 Annex 21 

We are offering an apprenticeship in Business Admin level 3 within the Research and Development Department at The Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. The post holder will work within agreed guidelines and with supervision. Key tasks include word processing, office organisation, and data management including the maintenance and interpretation of databases and the extraction of reports. The post holder will also contribute to the management of appointments for trial participants, and assist in financial administration. The workload is varied but generally predictable. They will work closely with local clinicians, research practitioners and the R&D manager and provide research support to research staff.

Main duties of the job

·       Provide an administrative service, under supervision,  to the research and development department. Undertake general administrative and office duties, including opening and sorting post, distributing correspondence, preparing and collating documents.

·       Maintain relevant records, ensuring accurate data input into all computerised systems.

·       Use Microsoft products competently, ensuring that all information relating to current research is recorded appropriately on the research database.

·       Maintain databases and interpret data, extracting relevant reports.
