Job overview
INTERNAL ONLY TO NORTH CUMBRIA INTEGRATED CARE NHS FOUNDATION TRUST (NCIC) EMPLOYEES
Deliver a comprehensive programme of training, learning and development relating to Safeguarding, to all relevant staff across the Trust and wider network where required. Act as a clinical role model, demonstrating and sharing excellent safeguarding practice. Understand and respond to the learning and development needs of staff across the Trust, as related to significant incidents, learning reviews, and internal or external audits of practice.
The post holder will spend approximately 50% of their time in practice education, and 50% working as a Specialist Practitioner. This may vary slightly according to the needs of the Team and Trust.
The post holder will support the wider safeguarding team in ensuring that safeguarding processes are in line with national standards, as well as undertaking audits and practice evaluation to provide assurance to the Board that safeguarding systems are meeting the needs of adults, children and young people.
Main duties of the job
· Work as a member of the wider Safeguarding team, contributing information to enable an overall understanding of the safety and quality of the care provided across the organisations
· Contribute to the delivery of the annual safeguarding work plan across the organisation, with particular focus on training and education
· Liaise with key partners across the Police, Social Care services, and other relevant specialists in both statutory and voluntary agencies
· Work in partnership with the Head of Safeguarding, Named Nurses and Senior Leadership teams to ensure safeguarding issues become integral to all systems provided by the Trust.
· Liaise with the Executive Lead for the Trust for safeguarding, identifying themes for communication to the Trust Board.
· Work closely with Named doctors for Safeguarding, GP leads, CCG and all other external agencies/partners.

- Registered Nurse or Allied Health professional
- Recognised teaching or mentorship qualification

- Specialist post registration training in safeguarding

- To act in accordance with Codes of Professional Conduct for relevant professions and maintain registration where this is a requirement of the role
- To have up to date skills and a good understanding of evidence based practice
