Job overview
PPE Educator Band 4 - 37.5 hours per week, based at West Cumberland Hospital
We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join a dynamic team based at the West Cumberland Hospital but also working at the Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle and across North Cumbria in various Community settings.
The PPE Education Facilitator will work as part of the Health & Safety Team in supporting effective delivery of Qualitative and Quantitative respiratory Fit Testing.
The working week is predominantly Monday - Friday 07:00 - 20:00 with an element of self rostering. In extremis outbreaks, weekend and bank holiday working may be required.
The post holder will provide safety advice relating to PPE in line with local and national policy guidance, Public Health England & UK. Government legalities. They will facilitate PPE safety awareness training to a wide range of staff and will be responsible for maintaining high standards of documentation in relation to planning and training records of staff. The post holder will assist to support the organisational governance and administration by ensuring accurate records with regards to fit testing & equipment maintenance and calibration checks required.
The post holder will be expected to participate in any relevant training required for them to undertake their role effectively and achieve fit2fit accreditation.
Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide Education & training in the safe wearing of FFP3 masks and respiratory protective equipment as well as educate in relation to the wearing of basic PPE in line with local and national policy guidance, Public Health England & UK. Government legalities. They will facilitate PPE safety awareness training to a wide range of staff and will be responsible for maintaining high standards of documentation in relation to planning and training records of staff. The post holder will assist to support the organisational governance and administration by ensuring accurate records with regards to fit testing & equipment maintenance and calibration checks required.
