Recent experience or participation in audit would be desirable.
Main duties of the job
Lead and coordinate audit as dictated by service need or the forward audit plan.
Utilising skills to interpret data and be able to collate and present data to staff and be responsible for completing audit action plans.
Working for our organisation
University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness peninsula, the city of Lancaster and the Lake District. We provide a comprehensive range of acute and support hospital services to a population of 350,000 based around Morecambe Bay.
Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will lead on the development and implementation of a robust system of auditing within the Maternity Services developing an action plan in line with both local (trust) and National requirements
The post holder will work alongside the Quality Matron, Senior Midwifery Team and Audit Leads. to co-ordinate and monitoring the action plan ensuring that the audits relate to internal (trust) or external (CNST) and meet the required standards.
The post holder will participate in clinical governance, monitor evidence and developments within the Maternity Services, ensuring that emerging themes and recommendations as a result of audits are incorporated into guidelines and practice.

- minimum 2 years as a midwife
- experience in audit
- Good knowledge of governance
