Job overview

Morecambe South District Nurses are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and highly motivated band 4 Community Nurse Associate, who is excited to work in an evolving district nursing service.
 
The successful applicant will be committed to working closely with health and social care colleagues, to provide high quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in the community setting.
 
This role will be a permanent 37.5hrs per week, working flexibly over 7 days including weekends and evening shifts. 
 
 
 
 
 

Main duties of the job

The team is  conveniently based in the seaside town of Morecambe, making this a desirable area to both access and a lovely coastal area to work in.
 
The post holder will work as a registrant within Community Services, accountable for providing evidence based, holistic nursing care for patients.
 
You will be joining an enthusiastic and motivated team who are friendly and approachable. We are very patient focused and staff development is high on our agenda. As part of our team we want to develop all staff to the highest standard, staff will have access to regular clinical supervision, training and Occupational Health services.
 
You will need to work collaboratively with other professionals, voluntary sector and informal carers to promote excellent care to patients in their own homes and community setting.
 
The role requires excellent communication skills as you will be undertaking complex nursing assessments and developing and delivering programs of care for patients and carers.
 
Full UK driving licence is required to carry out this role. 

Working for our organisation

We operate from three main hospitals-Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre. 

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services. 

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses. 

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
