Cook Supervisor B4 - 15 hours available - West Cumberland Hospital

An opportunity has arisen to join the Catering team at WCH. You will be part of an amazing team with many responsibility's to the staff and patients.  You will:

Work within set protocols. Work is managed rather than supervised. Follow all Food Safety Regulations. The Catering Manager will review performance and undertake appraisals.

To provide a full balanced diet for all patients within a strict budget, liaising with ward staff and Dieticians. A Restaurant that is open Monday to Friday providing a full Breakfast, Lunch and Supper menu with a range of freshly made sandwiches and snacks. Coffee Shop open Monday to Sunday.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for the day to day operation of the Catering Service.
Ensure food and hygiene standards are met.
Training of staff.
Dealing with complaints from the wards, Restaurant and Coffee Shop.
Cashing up the tills in the Restaurant and Coffee Shop.
Ordering of food.
Compiling weekly rota and allocating additional hours at the cheapest rate.
Making fresh food for the Restaurant, including preparation of food to deadlines/using knife skills in butcher and filleting

  • • City and Guilds 706/1 706/2/NVQ 3 or equivalent, plus knowledge for special diets acquired through training and experience to diploma equivalent level
