THIS POST IS FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT FOR 18 MONTHS DUE TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE.

The post-holder will provide senior leadership across the People Services team with responsibility for Employee Relations Case Management across the Trust line manage the Investigation Officers. They will also work closely with colleagues across the wider People and Culture directorate.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
Provide Leadership and expert advice to the People Services Team and the Employee Investigations team on all Employee Relations matters and complex cases.
Operate as a core member of the senior leadership team for the People & Culture Directorate, ensuring strategies, plans and ways of working are coherent and aligned, and an effective and efficient value‐added service is delivered to the organisation.
Deputise for the Head of People Services as required and represent People Services on national groups, influencing the development of the All-Wales workforce agenda.
The Deputy Head of People will provide a comprehensive, professional and high-quality people service to their nominated Directorate(s). A key role in the management team, the Deputy Head of People will lead the Directorate in developing the people capacity and capability to deliver their business plans, including robust and effective workforce planning.

Lead the People Services team providing clear direction, support, and development opportunities.
Collaborate with senior leaders to identify, assess and address highly complex people-related challenges and opportunities and formal processes initiated internally and externally as a consequence.
As a Senior People professional, the Deputy Head of People is expected to be largely self-managing and will work autonomously.

Essential Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Educated to Masters level in relevant discipline or equivalent knowledge and expertise.
- CIPD Level 7 or equivalent qualification in Human Resources or Organisational Development.
- Chartered member of the CIPD.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience in a senior HR or OD role, with a track record of delivering successful People strategies.
