This post is fixed term / secondment for 6 months until 01/05/2026 to meet the needs of the service.

To provide business management, administrative and operational support to the Volunteer Management Team within the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust. This is a key role to ensure efficient and effective support to the volunteer management training team.

Post holder will manage all aspects of learning and programme administration and will also provide support across the wider education and training teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate effective use of the range of Microsoft office software applications and will have well developed communication skills. Previous experience of working in an administrator role and experience working with volunteers are required.

Post holder will be able to work from headquarters Swansea.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Operations Directorate for a Training Co-ordinator - Community Support  to engage with Volunteer Training team and National Ambulance Training College and our volunteers to coordinate all volunteer training within the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS Trust. 

You will work as a key member of the Volunteer Team, responsible for planning, providing and facilitating training arrangements. 

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a demanding administrative environment working with complex issues with competing priorities and workloads.
  • Experience Co-ordinating diaries/rotas, including allocating tasks and courses.
  • Experience of handling enquires/correspondence, including confidential/sensitive information.
  • Experience of developing relationships, communicating, and working across organisations boundaries. Experience of handling enquires/ correspondence, including confidential/ sensitive information.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a Health Service environment
  • Experience of working with or administrating volunteers
  • Experience of working with training and education.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 4 BTEC or equivalent qualification and / or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft office packages i.e Teams, Word, Excel and outlook
  • Knowledge and experience of a range of administrative services acquired through training.
  • Working knowledge of the organisation and functions of the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust.
  • General awareness of the structure, organisation and general policy of the NHS in Wales.
Desirable criteria
  • Working knowledge of WAST Volunteers

  • Ability to work across Trust as required
  • Ability to work unsocial hours including weekends

  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to priorities workloads, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
