As a Dementia Support Worker in the team, you have various opportunities for self-development through mandatory training in the trust but also specific bitesize training internally within the team about different topics. As a team we are always looking to learn and develop, this will involve a lot of joint working and sharing of skills. There are lots of training opportunities available and as a management team with encourage learning and progression. There are at times opportunities for development through nurse associate programmes depending on funding agreements.
The team are extremely supportive and welcoming, we have a fantastic team morale and promote a positive outlook, to work towards a "can do" attitude. We encourage individual and team wellbeing which we receive positive feedback from the team and visitors about. As a team we are caring and enjoy good humour to support through difficult periods.

As a service we work 8am until 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am until 5pm, weekends and bank holidays, all staff are given an option of their preferred shifts, i.e. short days, or longer days, in which is suitable to their lifestyle and wellbeing. We are a fair and flexible team, that utilises the trust's flexible working policy where required. There is an expectation to work weekends and bank holidays in order to provide our service users with the care they require. Rosters are done in advance to allow people to plan ahead.
We want to recruit a positive, caring, and enthusiastic individual with good knowledge and experience in Dementia and Delirium. Skills in line with problem solving, adaptability and compassion will be key to the role. It is important the person can work individually and as a team player.
Due to the role being part time, we are unable to provide sponsorship for this role.
Individuals applying for the role, must be able to meet the travel requirement, which includes potentially travelling 30-50 miles daily, mileage allowance for visits is provided. Please be aware we cover a large geographical area and public transport is limited, especially at weekends and bank holidays.
