Job overview

You would be joining us at an exciting time as we continue to expand our service and develop pathways to effectively support people with all eating disorders. 

We welcome applications from psychologists able to provide high quality specialist clinical psychology services within our innovative  multidisciplinary community eating disorders team.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder would be responsible for providing specialist treatment and services for people with eating disorders who may present with another comorbidity, in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team. 

You will use creative and innovative ideas to improve the service, developing and building the clinical model and delivery of treatment to enable us to effectively support people with the full range of eating disorders. 

You will support the psychological practice within the team through consultation, supervision, formulation, and training. The post holder will act as clinical supervisor to newly qualified and trainee clinical psychologists as well as assistant psychologists and other therapists including CBT therapists.   

You will work autonomously within National, Professional, and Trust guidelines and policies, promoting high standards of psychology practice and use the highest quality of psychological evidence and clinical accountability to inform and enable best practice and to contribute and lead aspects of service development and delivery.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Post-graduate doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS. The post holder must be either Chartered by the BPS or a Full member of the Association of Clinical Psychologists UK.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a practitioner psychologist, under the heading of ‘Clinical Psychologist’.
  • Good Honours degree in Psychology, with eligibility for graduate membership of BPS

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with service users with eating disorders
  • Experience of working with service users with severe mental health problems
