Job overview
We are looking for a registered Mental Health Nurse, to join our Eating Disorders Service. We welcome applicants who are already practicing at band 6 or those who are working at Band 5 and are ready to progress to a Band 6 role.
Derbyshire Eating Disorder Service was established in 2007, we are a specialist team which provides an evidence based service to people with primary eating disorders. The existing team covers the City of Derby and the County of Derbyshire providing a high quality therapeutic service, delivering clinical interventions to clients with eating disorders and their families or carers.
The service also provides consultation and advice to a wide range of professionals. In addition the service has close working relationships with other eating disorders services in the East Midlands region.
Work will be across the Eating Disorders Team with part of the role in the FREED team, which is an early intervention service for 18-25year olds with an untreated eating disorder of three years or less.

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting role within our team, to enable professional development in this specialist area.
The post involves you taking a significant role in trying to engage service users, helping with assessments and the delivery therapeutic interventions. In addition you will be expected to hold a caseload of service users with primary eating disorders, acting as care co-ordinator.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to be a good communicator and team player, maintaining good working relationships both inside and outside the trust. The current multi professional team comprises a Service Manager, Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, Nurse Therapists, CBT therapists, Dieticians, Occupational Therapists, Support Workers and Administrators.
We have a blended approach to working with our service users with both online and face to face appointments provided. You will need to be prepared to travel to see clients and be flexible to meet the demands of the job.
There is the expectation that you will take part in all relevant training for the post and take part in managerial and clinical supervision.

- Current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council under RN Part 3/13 (Mental Health Nurse)
- Evidence of CPD
Desirable criteria
- Training in Eating Disorders
Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of the principles of safety planning and risk assessment.
- Knowledge around interventions relevant to client group
- Knowledge of care planning
- Experience of working in Mental Health using therapeutic models
