Job overview
Our Domestic Services Department pride ourselves on the high standards of cleanliness throughout our services. Healthcare Cleaners are a valued member of the Healthcare Team and are respected for the work they do.
Healthcare Cleaners provide a range of cleaning duties across the Trust and support services to ensure a safe, efficient and effective service to all patients, staff and visitors is delivered.
Variety of hours available to include:
- 6am-9:30am Monday - Friday
- 7am-1:30pm Monday - Friday
- 7am-1:30pm Saturday-Sunday
- 1:30pm-8pm Monday - Friday
- 4:30pm-8pm Monday - Friday
Main duties of the job
Basic knowledge of cleaning standards which can include wards, outpatient /clinical areas.
You must be able to work alone or as part of a team.
If you are proactive and think you can help us to maintain our standards and contribute to the positive experience of our patients, we would like to invite you to apply.
Deliver the highest standards of cleaning service to the ward at all times observing work schedules and The National Specifications for cleanliness in the NHS requirements.
Changing window nets, curtains, screen and bed curtains wipe/wash net and shower curtains periodically the making of beds on residential areas.
Damp wiping of all furniture, fixtures and fittings, ledges, pipes, tiles, glass partition, walls, doors and panels, internal window blinds
The successful candidates will receive full induction training.

Desirable criteria
- Have knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures (inc. COSHH)
- Have knowledge of infection control guidance and procedures
- Basic Numeracy and Literacy skills

- Evidence of basic knowledge of cleaning principles
- Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and members of the public
