Job overview

MUSCULOSKELETAL & RHEUMATOLOGY OUTPATIENT SENIOR ROTATIONAL PHYSIOTHERAPIST or OSTEOPATH

We have two exciting opportunities which has arisen to join our Out-patient MSK team based at Queens Hospital Burton Site. You will work alongside a variety of Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Specialists, Advance Practitioners, a Consultant musculoskeletal Physiotherapist and the wider medical and nursing Orthopaedic & Rheumatology MDT. We are a forward thinking; innovative and passionate Therapy team and our vision is embedded in the Trust’s PRIDE values.

You must be highly motivated with the drive to deliver high quality patient care. You would need to be able to work flexibly to deliver the service on some evenings and weekends. You should possess Grad Dip. Phys or BSc, BOst, BOstMed, MOst and SRP, relevant post graduate education and have a broad-based clinical experience at junior or senior level.

You will be expected to demonstrate specialised musculoskeletal assessment skills on a diverse and complex caseload, with a proven ability to provide a working diagnosis and develop an individualised treatment programme. Our service covers secondary care referrals (Orthopaedics, Rheumatology & ED), primary care referrals, post –operative referrals and staff referrals.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a 9 monthly rotation programme, working in the following specialities;

  • Lower Quadrant (lower limb & lumbar spine)
  • Rheumatology
  • Upper Quadrants (cervical spine & upper limb)
  • There are opportunities for experience in the Women’s Health and Hands speciality.
  • Opportunities of ED trainee role

As part of the post a physiotherapist is required to have a commitment to the Respiratory On-call rota. Competency updates are provided.  As an osteopath you will not be expected to be part of the Respiratory On-call rota.
