Job overview
The Cardiac Catheter Suite team
Contributes to the delivery of outstanding patient care by:
1) We work closely with Consultant Cardiologists, Cardiac Physiologists and Radiographers
2) We perform invasive cardiac procedures such as coronary angiography, permanent pacemaker implantation, transoesophageal echocardiography and implantable loop recorder insertion to both outpatients and inpatients
3) Perform emergency procedures such as temporary wire insertion and pericardiocentesis
4) We ensure that we are flexible and available to provide urgent treatments alongside our planned lists
5) Provide a nurse led pre assessment clinic for our coronary angiography procedures
6) We provide follow up for our patients requiring post procedure blood tests and wound reviews
Main duties of the job
1. To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
2. To actively participate in the staff appraisal process.
3. To be familiar with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety Policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol.
4. It is the responsibility of every employee to actively help the Trust prevent and control infection by washing their hands effectively, carrying out their duties in a way which minimises infection, attending appropriate training and maintaining up to date knowledge and skills in infection control and prevention as relevant to their post.
