Job overview

We are looking to appoint a Locum Consultant Dermatologist for a six-month period to further develop our highly rated services at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity, and it is anticipated that there will be occasion for the appointee to develop a sub-specialty interest within the role.

Applicants will be expected to have completed broad based general medical training along with specific training in Dermatology.

The post will suit individuals with the desire and resolve to provide modern, high-quality care. We will also consider flexible working options, subject to the exigencies of the service.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MRCP/FRCP or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise.
Desirable criteria
  • Full participation in CME.
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients.
  • Broad based Dermatology experience
  • Experience of supervising junior doctors.
  • Quality/audit project experience.
  • Experience of participation in CPD
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in a similar post.
  • Experience in a leadership role
  • Experience as an educational supervisor or clinical tutor
  • Higher management training.
  • Clinical leadership experience or training

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Ability to teach clinical skills.
  • Ability to supervise postgraduate research.
Desirable criteria
  • leadership skills
