Failsafe Officer
NHS AfC: Band 3
Job overview
The Ophthalmology Department aims to provide robust, high quality failsafe systems in order to support the Diabetic Screening Service, the Age Related Macular Degeneration Service and general retinal and Glaucoma services.
The above services are extremely complex and we are seeking an enthusiastic organised individual to work within an existing team to continue to support our patients who are referred into the hospital eye services from primary care and organise timely treatments, diagnostic investigations and follow-up appointments for patients already on specialist pathways of care. This is crucial in order to optimize the individual patient’s visual outcome, ensuring quality care and clinical safety.
You should be educated to GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Maths and there is an expectation for the successful candidate to complete NVQ level 3 in retinal screening unit’s 1,2 & 9. Relevant certificates should be brought to interview.
Please note this role does not meet the Home Office criteria for the Trust to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship, therefore any applications that require sponsorship will not be considered.
