Housekeeper - Paediatric Outpatients

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Child Health Team within the Outpatients Department in the Den. The post holders will work as an integral part of the outpatients department.  He/she will be responsible for the co-ordination of all babies, child and parent facilities and services in the outpatient’s area and ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.

The postholder will be required to work closely with contractors and support service departments.  He/she will monitor quality standards, report deficiencies, and take appropriate action.

 

 

Main duties of the job

Ensure the department environment is kept clean to a predetermined level and in accordance with the Trust’s policies and procedures in order to achieve enhanced environmental standards.

Identify and action additional cleaning requirements.

Assist when needed in undertaking core domestic duties

Assist with the preparation of rooms for cleaning

Abide by infection prevention and control policies

To order and maintain adequate stock levels ensuring adequate supplies.

To ensure stock rooms are kept tidy and stock is easily accessible.

Assist with the collection of patient experience feedback.

Monitor the condition of equipment and report faults and repairs.

Remove items for repair if required documenting the action.

To maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

To actively participate in the staff appraisal process.

To be familiar with relevant Operational, Personnel, Health and Safety Policies and procedures, including Fire, COSHH, No Smoking and Alcohol.

To attend mandatory updates as required.
